Rockland County Launches Free TOR Ferry Weekend Connection Bus Weekend travelers will now have the opportunity to take a TOR ferry connection bus beginning this weekend to explore different parts of the Hudson Valley and New York City, free of charge. Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the Department of Public Transportation said that the service will begin on Saturday, July 6, and run through Nov. 10. The bus service will provide connecting transit service for Metro-North Hudson Line customers who travel to Haverstraw via the Haverstraw-Ossining weekend ferry, enabling them to travel beyond the Ferry Landing via public transit, officials said. Haverstraw Police Detective Calls It A Career After more than 30 years on duty, the Haverstraw Police Department said goodbye Friday to one of their most beloved officers, Detective Eleuterio "Terry" Collazo. Collazo called it a career after 31.5 years of dedicated police service to both the Village and Town of Haverstraw.  He was a police cadet in the Village of Haverstraw in the 1970's before being hired as a police officer in 1987 with the Village of Haverstraw Police Department, the department said on Facebook. Spring Valley Cousins Face Attempted Murder Charge For Bar Stabbing Two Spring Valley cousins have been indicted on attempted murder and assault charges for the vicious stabbing of a man outside of a bar following a confrontation, according to  Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe. Daniel Salto, 21, and John Salto, 23, both of Spring Valley, were charged Wednesday for the Jan. 22 crime outside of Mi Tierra Bar in the Village of Haverstraw, the DA's Office said.
