Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands In Rockland, Orange Counties: Here's Latest Breakdown
Thousands of Rockland and Orange county residents are still without power a day after thunderstorms brought down trees and power lines weeks after Tropical Storm Isaias rocked the region.
As of late Friday morning, Aug. 28, Orange & Rockland Utilites was reporting 52 outages that were impacting 1,199 of their 303,003 customers.
In Orange County, 539 of O&R’s customers were still in the dark, with the bulk of them listed in Crawford (533). Other outages were reported in Deerpark, Middletown, Mount Hope, and Wallkill.

Hundreds in Rockland and Orange County remain without power nearly a week after Tropical Storm Isaias wreaked havoc on the East Coast.
As of 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, crews from Rockland & Orange Utilities was still responding to 417 reported outages, which were impacting 1,345 of their New York customers.
In Orange County, 705 of the company’s 104,130 customers were still reporting outages, while 628 of their 117,244 Rockland County residents were still in the dark.

There are still thousands who remain without power in Rockland and Orange counties five days after Tropical Storm Isaias barreled through the region.
Orange & Rockland Utilities is reporting 5,876 of its 302,789 customers are still experiencing outages on Sunday, Aug. 8 at 10:15 a.m.
In Orange County, 1,957 of 104,130 customers (1.9 percent) are in the dark.
In Rockland County, 1,593 of 117,244 customers (1.36 percent) are without power.

There’s light at the end of the tunnel for Orange and Rockland county residents as utility crews continue cleaning up from the damage done by Tropical Storm Isaias.
Orange & Rockland Utilities reported on Friday, Aug. 7 that it restored nearly 80 percent of the reported outages caused by the storm, though thousands are still waiting to turn the lights back on.
