Two men are behind bars after being busted by New York State Police troopers with more than a half-pound of heroin during a traffic stop in the area.
A trooper on patrol in Ulster County stopped Bronx resident Aury German, age 30, on I-87 in Plattekill at approximately 4 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, when he committed a traffic violation in front of him.

Man Arrested For Possession Of Gun, Drugs During Traffic Stop In Area, Police Say
A 20-year-old man is facing drugs and weapons charges after being stopped for a traffic violation.
Jamek R. Atkins, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Wednesday, March 10, after being stopped by state police on Route 9, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
According to Hicks, troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2012 Hyundai sedan on Route 9 in the town of Poughkeepsie for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
An investigation found one of the passengers, identified as Atkins, was in illegal possession of a Springfield Armory XDS .45 handgun, and approximately 3.2 grams of cocaine.

Man Drove Drunk At More Than Twice Legal Limit In Hudson Valley, Police Say
New York State Police arrested a Connecticut man for alleged drunk driving after being stopped for a traffic violation in Rockland County.
Samuel Johnson, 32, of Hamden in New Haven County, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, on I-87 in Clarkstown, said state police.
One stopped, troopers found that Johnson was intoxicated and performed a blood alcohol test which showed that he was allegedly driving at twice the legal limit at 0.21 percent, state police said.
Johnson was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and was turned over to a sober third party.

Woman Stopped In Westchester Following Brief Police Pursuit Charged With DWI
New York State Police arrested a woman in Westchester following a brief pursuit after she was stopped for multiple traffic violations and alleged DWI.
Idalisa Roman, 40, of the Bronx, was arrested around 12:10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 2, after state police attempted to stop her vehicle on I-287 in the town of Harrison, said the state police.
Roman failed to comply, and a brief pursuit ensued. Once the vehicle stopped, it was determined that the driver, Roman was intoxicated, state police said.

Palisades Interstate Parkway Pursuit Reaches Speeds Of 105 MPH, State Police Say
New York State Police arrested a man following a police high-speed pursuit when he fled during a routine traffic stop in Rockland County.
Trevor S. Calder, age 37, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 7, after fleeing during an attempted traffic stop on the Palisades Parkway in the town of Stony Point, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
The incident began when a trooper patrolling the parkway spotted a 2014 BMW traveling west in violation of traffic laws. The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and instead of pulling over, Calder fled, Nevel said.

An investigation into a fatal three-vehicle crash in Orange County has found that a tree service truck driver at fault.
The New Windsor Police Department has concluded its investigation into the cause of the Wednesday, Oct. 21, a fatal three-vehicle collision involving a Washingtonville Central School District bus, a commercial tree service truck, and a BMW sedan, said Deputy Chief Michael Farbent.
