New Update: IDs Released Of Mother, Child Struck, Killed By School Bus In Westchester
The names of a kindergarten student and his mother who were fatally struck by a bus while walking to a Westchester school have been released by police.
Mamaroneck resident Molly Murphy Donovan, age 43, and her 6-year-old son, Michael Donovan Volpe, were killed in a crash in in Mamaroneck on Thursday, June 20 around 8:30 a.m.
They were struck by a school bus at the intersection of New Street and Mamaroneck Avenue, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department announced on Friday, June 21.

Members of the community have raised thousands of dollars to support the family of a Northern Westchester highway department worker who was struck and killed by a vehicle.
Jake Arcara, age 28, was struck by a vehicle while working as a machine equipment operator for the Yorktown Highway Department in the area of 477 London Road at about 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, police reported.

Rockland County Sheriff Cracking Down On Impaired Driving Over Memorial Day Weekend
With a photo of a 13-year-old area teen who was killed by a drunk driver by his side, Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco warned drivers about the dangers of impaired driving.
While traffic on roadways is expected to be lighter than normal over the Memorial Day weekend due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions, Falco said his office is still enforcing the laws.
Falco made the announcement on Friday, May 22, along with Anastasia Karassik, the mother of Larisa Karassik who was killed on Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 2015, at the age of 13.

Woman Seriously Injured In Wrong-Way Saw Mill River Parkway Crash
A Fairfield County woman was seriously injured when a wrong-way driver collided with her car on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester.
The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, on the northbound Saw Mill just north of Marble Avenue, in Mount Pleasant, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Anthony Rodriguez, 42 of Yonkers, traveled along Grant Street in Pleasantville and then turned left to proceed south on the Saw Mill, O'Leary said.
