This story has been updated: A 20-year-old Westchester County man is dead and an 18-year-old male is in stable condition following a single-car crash that ended with the vehicle slamming into the side of a building. The crash took place around 11:40 p.m., Monday, July 3 at 1420 West Boston Post Road in the town of Mamaroneck. Proposal To Build $138M Water Filtration Plant In Westchester Detailed
A local organization has announced an important step forward for a proposal to build a $138 million drinking water filtration plant in Westchester County. Thousands in the Hudson Valley were left in the dark overnight as Tropical Depression Ida rocked the region, felling trees and downing power lines with whipping winds and flooding rains. As of 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, tens of thousands of Hudson Valley residents were still reporting power outages following the wreckage caused by Ida, which provided flooding rain and winds topping 50 mph to some parts of the region. ID Released For Woman Who Died In Westchester House Fire
A woman who died in a weekend house fire in Westchester has been identified. Cecelia Kussner, 85, was killed around 12:10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, in the fire at 490 Midland Ave. in Rye. Responding Rye Police and firefighters found fire coming from the second floor of the home, the department said. A 28-year-old serial burglar has been sentenced after admitting to a string of burglaries in Westchester last summer. Cortlandt Manor resident Julian Montgomery has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of burglary last month following a string of burglaries in and around Greenburgh. A 28-year-old serial burglar accused of committing crimes in more than a dozen municipalities has admitted to his role in a string of burglaries dating back to last summer.
