Police To Target Speeding, Aggressive Drivers During NY Enforcement Crackdown Speeding drivers, watch out — police in New York are set to crack down on aggressive motorists during a weeklong enforcement crackdown.  The "Speed Week" enforcement initiative, which will begin on Monday, June 3, and continue through Sunday, June 9, will target speeding and aggressive drivers throughout New York, Gov. Police Issue Thousands Of Tickets In Area During National Child Passenger Safety Week Thousands of tickets were handed out by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley during National Child Passenger Safety Week. Troopers in Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Green Counties issued more than 2,100 tickets to motorists during the special detail, which lasted from Sunday, Sept. 15, through Saturday, Sept. 21. During the detail, troopers issued 86 child restraint tickets. In addition to those, another 2,042 tickets were handed out for various vehicle and traffic violations. Buckle Up: Police Cracking Down On Unsafe Seatbelt Practices In State Parks New York State Police will soon begin to crack down on improper and unsafe seatbelt use throughout state parks. “BUNY in the Parks” is an enforcement and educational campaign implemented by New York State Police, the New York State Park Police and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. Its goal is to help ensure that visitors of state parks are buckling up and staying safe. The campaign is also intended to teach the importance of properly securing younger visitors in approved child safety seats.
