The identities of the suspect shot and killed, along with two others arrested, in the officer-involved shooting during a raid by the FBI and police at a motel in Westchester overnight, have been released. The suspect, who was pronounced dead at Westchester County Medical Center, was sought in connection with more than one investigation in Connecticut and elsewhere, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office. Motorists are advised that a long-term right lane closure is expected to continue on a stretch of the Saw Mill River Parkway through the end of June. The closure is northbound between Exit 17 (Ashford Avenue) and Exit 21 (eastbound and westbound NY Route 119) in the Town of Greenburgh villages of Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley while crews perform construction activities. An allegedly drunk driver was involved in a head-on crash while driving the wrong way on the Saw Mill River Parkway, injuring another driver, police said. ID Released For Man Killed In Crash That Caused Hours-Long Saw Mill Parkway Closure
The driver who died in a crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway that closed the northbound lanes in Bedford Hills for hours has been identified. Robert Leff, 51, of the Baldwin Place section of Somers, died around 11:25 a.m. Thursday after crashing into a tree, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Leff was traveling northbound in the vicinity of Green Lane when his Toyota Rav 4 left the roadway and struck a tree. Ginny Enright, 85, has lived in Chappaqua for the past 54 years. Now, Enright is one of the first residents of Chappaqua Crossing Apartments. Her friend of over 50 years just moved in, too. Pickup Truck Bursts Into Flames After Crash At I-684/Saw Mill Junction
This story has been updated. Smoke was sent billowing through the air when a pickup truck became fully engulfed in flames at the merger of I-684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway on Thursday morning. First responders were dispatched at approximately 11 a.m. to I-684, at the Saw Mill River Parkway juncture near exit 43 in Katonah, where there was a multi-vehicle crash that left one car in flames near the guardrail of the southbound lanes.
