The collision occurred in Orange County around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, on Route 6 in the town of Woodbury. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation determined that a 2021 Kia was traveling westbound on Route 6 and rear-ended a second vehicle traveling in the same direction. It happened just after 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 in Orange County on Route 6 in the town of Woodbury. The chain of events began when a New York State Park Police officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the Palisades Interstate Parkway near Exit 17.
