Person Extricated After 2-Vehicle Crash In Region
A man was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley.
The collision occurred in Sullivan County on Route 17 at 7:40 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the town of Liberty.
According to Trooper Jennifer Alvarez of the New York State Police, a 2011 Cadillac traveling northwest near the ramp at Exit 110A pulled in front of a 1995 Ford on Route 55, causing the front of the Ford to hit the driver's side of the Cadillac.
Alvarez said the Cadillac driver, David Ullaguari, 69, of Monticello, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Liberty Fire Department.

A motorist was charged with driving while intoxicated and without a license after crashing into another vehicle, killing one person in the region, according to authorities.
The crash took place in Sullivan County around 6 p.m., Sunday, May 21, on Route 55 in the town of Bethel, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel.

Hudson Valley Man Known As 'Hot Dog Guy' Dies At Age 80
For the past 18 years the "Hot Dog Guy," has stood on the side of a busy area roadway and waved to passing vehicles, bringing smiles to bypassers.
Sadly, those days have come to an end with the death of Dutchess County staple George Schwartz, the hot dog man's real name, on Friday, June 18 in Lagrangeville.
Schwartz, who was 80, always said he was a "regular guy" who sold hot dogs, his obituary said.
He worked on Route 55 until the end, only stopping when a short illness would not allow him to serve his customers any longer.
