The native of Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey died on Monday, Aug. 24 at 23 years old -- but his legacy lives on, thanks to a GoFundMe launched by Gabrielle Rodriguez in his memory.
The $11,800 that had been raised as of Tuesday morning will be donated to "The Trevor Project" in Phillip's name. The American non-profit organization focuses on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth.

16-Year-Old Rescued After Falling From Mountain At Rockland Lake State Park
A 16-year-old was rescued after falling about 30 feet off a mountain in Rockland County.
The Clarkstown Police Department deployed a drone to help assist with the rescue of an injured hiker at Hook Mountain, located in Rockland Lake State Park, located in the hamlets of Congers and Valley Cottage, on Friday night, May 22.
The teen, who sustained unspecified injuries, was removed from the mountain and transported to an area hospital by Congers Valley Cottage Ambulance and Medic 5.

NJ Dance Instructors Accused Of Sexually Abusing Boys In Bergen, Rockland, Fairfield Counties
A New Jersey instructor with a competitive Irish dance organization sexually assaulted three boys, a trio of lawsuits filed in Hackensack charge.
A second teacher, who has since died, was also accused by one of the three with assaulting him three decades ago.
The plantiffs allege the abuse occurred in Bergen, Rockland and Fairfield counties, as well as in Syracuse, Orlando and Ireland, IrishCentral.com reported.

Pearl River Ex-Con, Companion Had Heroin, Pellet Gun, Brass Knuckles, Police Say
A Rockland ex-con and his companion were carrying heroin, a pellet gun and brass knuckles when they were stopped by police in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, authorities said.
Wade Chindemi, 29, and passenger, Alyisa Em, 28, both of Pearl River, were sent to the Bergen County Jail after Officer Geovanny Buiton found the weapons in their car, along with heroin, pot and promethazine, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
“More heroin was found in both of their clothing during a search,” Metzler said.
Police charged both Chindemi and Em with drug and weapons counts following the stop on Broadway at Tunbridge…
