Ramapo Police Nab Man Wanted For Murder In Florida Following Attack On Officers
A man wanted for a homicide in South Florida was nabbed by Ramapo Police following a carjacking and a fight with police.
Alexander Martinez, 51, of Carteret, New Jersey, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, after police received a call about a man attempting to gain access to an office on Route 45 in New Hempstead, said Ramapo Police Lt. Daniel Hyman.
Before police arrived, Martinez fled in a Ford SUV, and reportedly approached the driver of another vehicle on the roadway, punching him and smashing a tablet.

New Charges After Man Plows Into Family, Killing Pregnant Mom In Road-Rage Attack
Additional charges have been filed against the man accused of intentionally driving his car twice into a family of eight, killing the mother, who was reportedly several weeks pregnant.
The incident took place around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, when Jason Mendez, 35, of Washingtonville in Orange County, drove his vehicle into the family standing in front of the store located on North Central Highway in Garnerville, killing 32-year-old Melissa Deloatch, said Haverstraw Police Capt. A man wanted in New York City for violating parole was nabbed in the Hudson Valley after he allegedly attacked officers and fled on foot.
Anthony Huertas, 36, of the Bronx, was arrested by Monticello Police on Friday, Dec. 28, around 11:55 p.m., when an officer on patrol on Jefferson Street, saw him standing in the middle of the road with a female, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, with the Monticello Police Department.
