A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for portions of the region as the backend of a complex storm system will combine with a drop in temperatures, bringing a mix of rain, sleet, and snow. The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 until 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22. A massive wildfire in the Hudson Valley is now 95 percent contained as firefighters continue establishing a control line to try and gain full containment. The Whitehouse Fire in Ulster County in Denning had grown to 630 areas as of late Monday, Nov. 11. In response to ongoing dry conditions and an increased fire danger, Rockland County Executive Ed Day has issued an executive order for a countywide burn ban, effective immediately. This action was issued for Rockland County on Friday, Nov. 1.
