Murder Of Hudson Valley College Student Remains Mystery 20 Years Later
New York State Police are continuing to investigate the murder of a 20-year-old Hudson Valley woman 20 years ago. Megan McDonald's body was found in Orange County on Saturday, March 15, 2003, in a field off Bowser Road in the town of Wallkill. McDonald’s 1991 white Mercury Sable was discovered two days later in an apartment complex parking lot, in the town of Wallkill, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Guilty: Hudson Valley Man Convicted Of Raping Child
A man from the region is facing decades behind bars after being convicted of raping a child. Orange County resident Cecilio Navarro, age 35, of Middletown, was found guilty of multiple sex crimes by a jury on Tuesday, March 14. Prosecutors had argued that Navarro sexually abused a child beginning in December 2016, when the victim was under the age of 13. The abuse continued on and off through 2021. A teacher was injured during a fight between two students at a school in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Orange County on Monday, March 6 at Middletown High School. The fight took place in a hallway outside a classroom. The teacher was injured while attempting to intervene, said Amy Creeden, Superintendent of Schools for the Enlarged City School District of Middletown. A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to stabbing a woman during a violent home invasion. Orange County resident Jonathan Harris, age 41, of Middletown, was sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision for the incident which took place on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Five people have been charged with alleged crimes pertaining to trafficking cocaine, crack and ecstasy in Orange County. Man Uses Fire Department Credit Card To Make Purchases In Northern Westchester: Police
A man faces identity theft charges after ordering a replacement credit card for a fire department in Northern Westchester and using it to make purchases, police said. On Saturday, Dec. 10, the Town of Bedford Police Department received a report from the Bedford Hills Fire District that they had identified numerous unauthorized charges on their credit card statement that had not been done by anyone with the fire department. A Hudson Valley man was busted with an alleged stolen weapon after taking police on a pursuit. The incident took place in Orange County around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 on Cantrell Avenue in the city of Middletown. Troopers pulled over a 2019 Acura on Cantrell Avenue for having a suspended license. A Hudson Valley woman has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking and spitting on troopers attempting to make an arrest.
