A Hudson Valley man was killed when a juvenile backing an SUV into a driveway accelerated and hit the victim. The incident occurred in Orange County at 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the village of Kiryas Joel in the town of Monroe. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 13-year-old was backing a 2024 Honda Odyssey into the driveway of a residence. 5 Nabbed On Gun Charges In Hudson Valley During Traffic Stop, Police Say Five residents in the region, including three juveniles, were nabbed on alleged gun charges during a routine traffic stop.  The incident occurred in Orange County around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, on I-84 in Deerpark. According to New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel, troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Orange County resident Jaykris Vargas, age 23, of Middletown. Hudson Valley Juvenile Nabbed For Making 'Non-Specific' School Threat, Police Say A juvenile was charged with allegedly making a threat of mass harm after the FBI alerted the New York State Police of a school threat made in the region on TikTok. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Wappinger. Trooper AJ Hicks said an investigation determined the "non-specific threat originated from the town of Wappinger.  Investigators located and arrested the minor soon after, Hicks said. Minor Injured By Fall Caused By Seizure At Northern Westchester American Legion Hall: Police A police department came to the aid of a minor who suffered a fall likely caused by a seizure at a Northern Westchester American Legion Hall, authorities said.  On Saturday, Nov. 12, around 4:30 p.m., several adults brought an injured juvenile into North Castle Police headquarters after they suffered a fall at the American Legion House in Armonk at 35 Bedford Rd., according to North Castle Police.  The adults accompanying the injured minor told police that they had a history of seizures, which likely caused the fall, authorities said. Sullivan County residents Tahleek Clark, age 20, and a 15-year-old juvenile were arrested on Friday, Aug. 13 for the incident which took place on Monday, Aug. 9 during the early morning hours in Monticello, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
