Weekend Ferry Service Between Northern Westchester, Rockland Off To Strong Start Months after the launch of a weekend ferry service between Westchester and Rockland counties, ridership is only going up, officials announced.  Since weekend service on the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry was started in May, ridership numbers have continued to climb each month, MTA officials announced on Wednesday, July 31.  According to the MTA, ridership in July reached an average of 455 trips a day on the weekend compared to 240 trips a day in May. Metro-North experienced delays into and out of Grand Central Terminal due to a speed restriction resulting from track work starting at the tail end of the morning commute and continuing into the early afternoon.
