Man Held Woman By Throat, Pressed Pillow Over Her Face, Police Say
A 22-year-old man was arrested following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly held down the victim by her throat with a pillow over her face and nose.
Phillip G. Clemens, of New Paltz, was arrested around 6:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, after police responded to Hasbrouck Park for a call for help, said New Paltz Police Lt. Robert Lucchesi.
According to Lucchesi, when police arrived at the park they found the victim who had fled her home after allegedly being assaulted by Clemens.

Man Arrested For Burglary Of Area Religious Academy, Police Say
A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at an area religious academy.
Rockland County resident Aharon Greenfield, 34, of Monsey, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 12, for the burglary that took place on Friday, Jan. 31, said Clarkstown Police Office Norman Peters.
The incident occurred at Ashar Adolph Schreiber Hebrew Academy, at 360 New Hempstead Rd. in New City, he said.
Following the burglary, responding officers were met by school staff who said multiple locked interior doors leading to offices had been forcibly opened, Peters said.

Alleged Car Thief Rams Two Clarkstown Police Cars In Attempt To Escape, Police Say
A 62-year-old man allegedly driving a stolen truck rammed two police cars and then fled on foot when officers attempted to make a traffic stop.
Juan Colon, of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested around 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, after Clarkstown Police officers on patrol attempted to stop a black Ford F-350 that had been reported stolen, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.
When officers tried to make the stop in the area of Shorn Drive and Western Highway, Colon allegedly attempted to flee by ramming two Clarkstown Police vehicles, which had boxed him in, Peters said.

ID Released For High School Student Stabbed To Death By Teen Girl
A 17-year-old area high school student has been identified as the victim of a deadly stabbing.
Roy Boyd, of the City of Middletown, was found stabbed to death around 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, following a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute on Orchard Street, said City of Middletown Police Lt. Jeffry R. Thoelen.
As officers responded to the area, a second call said that Boyd, who attended Middletown High School, had been stabbed in the chest. When officers arrived, they found Boyd lying "gravely injured" on the sidewalk in front of 66 East Main St., Thoelen said.

Area Man Arrested Twice In Hours Under New Bail Reform
A man who was arrested for an alleged domestic dispute that ended with an officer injured was arrested again within 20 minutes after court under new bail reform laws.
The incident began around 7:20 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, when New Paltz responded to a home on Colonial Drive for a report of a domestic assault, said New Platz Police Lt. Robert Lucchesi.

Man Charged With Burglary, Assaulting Two People In Area
A 39-year-old man was arrested after allegedly burglarizing a home and threatening two residents in the area.
Orange County resident Carl Wilson, 39, of the Town of Wallkill, was arrested around 7:42 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 5, after police responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Mud Mills Road, said the Town of Wallkill Police.
Once on the scene, officers found that Wilson had allegedly forcefully entered the home and demanded personal items and money from two residents inside, police said.
