Eatery To Close Northern Westchester Location: 'I Am Not Giving Up,' Owner Says
A Northern Westchester eatery will soon be closing for good, its owner announced.
Blondery, a bakery in Peekskill at 922 Main St., will open for its last day on Sunday, Aug. 25, owner Auzerais Bellamy announced in a blog post.
The bakery, which opened in November 2022 as a retail space for the business's online storefront, specializes in gourmet blondies, layer cakes, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, and dog treats.
According to Bellamy, the business's birth in Peekskill came about by happenstance.

Missing Hudson Valley Girl, 13, Found Safe After Intensive Search, Police Say
A missing 13-year-old Hudson Valley girl was found safe near a Walmart after an intensive two-day search that included large groups of people, drones, helicopters, K9s, and 4-wheelers.
The incident took place in Orange County in the town of Newburgh on Saturday, Sept. 16 around 2:10 p.m.
According to Town of Newburgh Police Lt. Peter Talarico, it was uncharacteristic for the teen to walk off from her without letting someone know.

A Northern Westchester police department has welcomed a new furry friend onto the force.
The Bedford Police Department announced its newest addition, a future BluePath service dog named Maverick, on Tuesday, Sept. 27, representatives announced.
The yellow labrador and golden retriever mix is set to be cared for by the entire department, with officers Andrew Klein, Zach Leone, Mark Montanaro, and Joe Sagliano, serving as lead puppy raisers.

The Coffee Bar Opening Draws Crowd In Area
The grand opening of a new Ulster County coffee bar meant to bring the community together went off without a hitch.
Aptly named The Coffee Bar, the Village of New Platz shop held a grand opening on Saturday, Nov. 2, to much fanfare, especially for members of the Bruderhof Communities Church located in Rifton.
