Witnesses Sought In Fatal Hudson Valley Crash
Police are asking for any witnesses to a Hudson Valley crash in which a scooter driver was hit and killed by an SUV to come forward.
Rockland County resident Dariel Rivera, of Central Nyack, was killed around 3:50 a.m., Friday, July 14, on Route 303 in West Nyack.
According to Det. Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police, officers found Rivera after police received reports of a person lying in the roadway.
Rivera, who was riding an electric scooter, which was found heavily damaged, had sustained severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, Peters said.

An 18-year-old Hudson Valley teen was killed by a hit-and-run driver who later turned himself in to police.

Rockland Man Charged With Ripping Off Workers' Comp
A Monsey man has been charged with grand larceny in connection with filing false claims with Workers' Compensation, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe.
Jerry B. Cox, Jr., 54, was charged Wednesday with numerous felony grand larceny, insurance fraud, falsifying business records, and other charges in connection with a Feb. 20, 2015, injury claim, the DA's Office said.
“The defendant is accused of submitting false information to the New York State Insurance Fund for wages he claimed to lose after being unable to work following an on-the-job accident in 2015,"…
