A man from the region was nabbed for allegedly stealing a vehicle after fleeing from state police. The incident began in Putnam County on Wednesday, Jan. 31 in Brewster on westbound I-84 after New York State Police spotted a vehicle matching the description of a suspect involved in a hit-and-run crash. A community is mourning the loss of a Hudson Valley woman who once owned two popular businesses in Northern Westchester and was known for her love of crafting. Putnam County resident Diane Callahan-Caro of Brewster died on Friday, Jan. 19 in Newark, New Jersey at the age of 69, according to her obituary. Police in the Hudson Valley are asking for help in finding a Westchester man who they say stole from a gas station along with a woman.
