The blaze broke out in Rockland County at around 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24 in Bardonia. A first-arriving Clarkstown Police Department officer observed flames coming from the rear of the home on Barry Lane, in the area of the soffits.  The occupants of the home were evacuating the residence as additional units were arriving on the scene.  All four occupants -- two adults and two children -- exited the home along with their two dogs, …

Car Bursts Into Flames At Area Shopping Center, Damages One Business A car fire next at a Rockland County shopping center destroyed the vehicle and caused damage to a business. The fire took place around 7:30 a.m., Thursday, April 2, at 53 Bardonia Road in Bardonia, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.  As units responded to the fire they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the vehicle. The Nanuet Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.  The vehicle was parked next to Cleanique Cleaners that did sustain a minor smoke condition but did not receive any fire damage, Peters said. Kristian James O’Hara, of Bardonia, was sentenced Friday, Jan. 10, following his guilty plea in April of 2019, said Delaware U.S. Attorney David C. Weiss. Members of the Clarkstown Police Department were alerted to an injured hawk on L’Ambiance Court in Bardonia on Saturday, Aug. 10. Police said that the hawk had an injured wing, and was unable to fly. Student, Driver Injured In Route 304 School Bus Crash One student and a school bus driver were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Rockland. The crash occurred around 7:44 a.m. Nov. 26 on Route 304 and Washington Avenue in Pearl River, police said. Orangetown police officials said officers were still on the scene and little information was available. The students were on their way to Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia when the crash occurred with another vehicle. The injuries are said to be non-life threatening.  This is a developing story.
