New Housing Law In Hudson Valley County Aimed At Keeping Migrants Out
A new law just announced is aimed at keeping other cities and municipalities from bringing and housing people from out of the area to a certain Hudson Valley county. Rockland County officials including Executive Ed Day and Legislative Chair Jay Hood Jr. released the "Home Rule Autonomy in Housing Act," on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in an effort to help combat migrants being bused into the county from areas such as New York City. Hudson Valley County Declares State Of Emergency Ahead Of Expected Arrival Of Migrants From NYC
A county in the Hudson Valley has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the arrival of hundreds of migrants from New York City. About 340 migrant men will be housed in Rockland County at the Armoni Inn and Suites in Orangeburg for four months, Rockland County Executive Ed Day said Saturday afternoon, May 6.
