Ramapo's Fleetwood Elementary Principal Patricia Simmons Dies At 63

RAMAPO — Patricia Simmons, a popular principal at Fleetwood Elementary School in Chestnut Ridge, lost her battle with cancer Dec. 27, at the age of 63, reports lohud.com.

Simmons spent 15 years serving the East Ramapo school community; family and coworkers offered a tribute in her honor Jan. 3, says lohud.

A memorial service is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 at First Baptist Church, 56 South Broadway, in Tarrytown, according to lohud.com.

Simmons was remembered as being student-focused and being an integral part of bringing a troubled district together, according to lohud.
