Employability Skills Training Classes Now Available At RCC

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Residents looking for a job, or seeking to explore ways to advance in their current career will want to take advantage of a series of classes being offered by the Rockland County Career Center at Rockland Community College.

The Tech Center at Rockland Community College is offering a variety of free classes for residents looking for a job or wanting to advance in their career.

The free job training classes are geared to help people succeed at existing jobs, in their search for employment, or in advancing their careers. The training focuses on important skills that are valued by employers. These skills are not job-specific, but are relevant across industries, business sizes, and positions from entry-level to senior management. 

Classes include computer, technical, organizational, and analytical and relationship skills that enable employees to effectively problem solve, apply their knowledge, and interact successfully with their customers, colleagues and supervisors. 

Interested students can sign-up for just one class or multiple classes based on their needs. Courses include:

  • Excel, Word & PowerPoint 
  • Customer Service 
  • Presentation Skills 
  • Verbal Communication Strategies 
  • Teamwork
  •  Decision Making & Problem Solving
  • Organization & Planning 

The Rockland County Career Center is Rockland’s one-stop employment and training resource center dedicated to support the employment and training needs of job seekers and the staffing needs of employers.
