Ullman, who is also the Deputy Supervisor, and has been handling the supervisor duties, was expected to take the helm at least until the November election following the board's vote.
But at the last minute, the board said they decided not to vote to give the public more time for input, added lohud.com.
That doesn't mean Ullman won't ultimately take over for ousted former Supervisor Christopher St Lawrence after he was found guilty on federal corruption charges on May 19 which forced him to resign.
Ullman said he would run the town through the end of the year if the board votes in favor of his taking the position, but would not run for the position, added lohud.com.
If he is named as supervisor, Ullman said he will take a year off from his job as an administrator at the New Monsey Park Home for Adults to run the town.
He is running in November to retain his board seat, said lohud.com.
Town voters will elect a supervisor and two Town Board members in the upcoming November election.
