Trespassing Report At Monsey Adult Residence Leads To Contempt Charge

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police arrested a 58-year-old man on a criminal contempt charge after responding to a trespass complaint at an adult residential facility in Monsey on Friday evening, authorities said.

An officer was dispatched to the facility after receiving a report advising that a man who had previously assaulted a resident at the facility was on the premises around 6 p.m., according to officials.

The officer was aware of a valid order of protection against the suspect, along with a signed charge for second-degree criminal contempt against him, police report.

Upon arrival, the officer observed the man walking from the parking lot to the main entrance with a broken guitar in his hand; the suspect was immediately arrested and transported to the station house for processing, according to officials.

Bail was then set for the defendant, who was taken to the Rockland County Jail, police report.

Ramapo police officers investigated four motor vehicle accidents on Friday, including two on Route 59 in Airmont and one each on Saddle River Road in Airmont and North Saddle River Road in Monsey.

All of the reported accidents involved property damage only, according to officials.

Ramapo police handled 131 calls Friday, including 16 alarm activations, four fires and seven medical emergencies.

Two arrests were made. Charges included criminal contempt and false personation, police report.
