When officers responded to the scene, they found a baby raccoon stuck in a trap that was meant for another animal.

With the help of Suffern residents Sam Krutchick and Mike Galluppo, Detective Anne Cawley and Officers Lou Venturini and Frank Gulla, the baby raccoon was released from the trap and returned to the treetop.

Officers said the trap was moved from the area to avoid any future incidents of this nature.
