Suffern Police Make Arrests In What They Call 'Problem' Areas

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Suffern police say their focus on “a few problem locations” in the village has resulted in several arrests.

Among those arrested this week were, police said:

  • A 51-year-old West Haverstraw man who was charged with driving with a suspended registration on Washington Avenue.
  • A 27-year-old Suffern man who was charged with driving with both a suspended registration and driver’s license on Lafayette Avenue
  • An 18-year-old Congers man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana by an officer who was checking a suspicious vehicle in Brooklands Park.

Police also issued numerous summonses for speeding and stop sign violations on Wayne Avenue, Ramapo Avenue, and Yorkshire Drive.
