Torisha Cajuste of Spring Valley was arrested on Monday, Jan. 28, after Spring Valley police responded to a report of a possible fight inside an apartment, said Spring Valley Police Officer Matthew Galli.
When officers arrived on the scene, they encountered Cajuste who was trying to leave the area, Galli said.
"It soon became evident that this woman just had an altercation with another woman inside the apartment," he said.
The victim, who was still inside, reported that during the incident Cajuste threw a glass bottle at her, striking her in the head and causing an injury which required medical attention.
Cajuste was charged with assault and released on own recognizance after appearing in Spring Valley Justice Court.
