Jose Figueroa, 33, was arrested after the victim told police that he approached her in the kitchen during a New Year's Eve party and began kissing and touching her intimate parts without her consent while trying to pull her into an empty room, police reported.
The girl was able to wrestle herself away from the man and locked herself in a bathroom, where she called the police, investigators said.
Figueroa was charged with forcible touching, acting in an injurious manner to a child under 17 and sexual abuse.
He was arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
