Spring Valley Bicyclist Struck By Van

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley bicyclist was injured after being struck by a car Tuesday night on Chestnut Ridge Road, Ramapo police said.

The unidentified 40-year-old bicyclist was struck about 6:35 p.m. near Alpine Court, by a 38-year-old Chestnut Ridge man who was driving a 2004 Honda Odyssey, said Lt. Kevin Lee.

The bicyclist was transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition, Lee said.

The driver remained on scene. No criminal charges or summonses have been issued. The accident is under investigation by the Ramapo Accident Investigation Unit.
