Ramapo Police Make Arrest After Traffic Accident

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police arrested a Spring Valley man on Sunday, May 22, for driving under the influence following a three-car accident at the intersection Chestnut Ridge Road and Red Schoolhouse Road. 

Ramapo Police had a busy weekend responding to six vehicle accidents and 112 calls for service.

According to police, the unidentified, 55-year-old man was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and was processed and released on his own recognizance.

Other incidents in Ramapo over the weekend included the following:

  • Motor vehicle accidents in the Town of Ramapo occurred at the following locations: Route 17 in Sloatsburg; Route 306 in Kaser; Maple Terrace in Monsey, and Eckerson Road in Hillcrest.

Officers also responded to the following:

  • 112 calls for service 
  • 14 alarm activations 
  • 3 fires 
  • 8 medical emergencies 
  • 3 arrest: the above described arrest, and two arrest for vehicle and traffic law misdemeanors.
