RAMAPO, N.Y. -- K-9 units from the Ramapo Police Department and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office teamed up Thursday to aid in a search of the county jail, police said.
Police dogs and their handlers from Ramapo and other local police agencies participated in a training event Thursday by searching the county jail for drugs and other contraband. Ramapo police Officer A. Sanchez poses with K-9 "Rookie."

Ramapo police said the training events also help insure that drugs have not been smuggled into the jail.
