Ten vehicles were inspected, and numerous violations were cited. None of the vehicles needed to be taken out of service.
The morning checkpoint was conducted with the state Department of Transportation on North Main Street.
Ramapo police aim to improve the safety of area motorists with the checkpoints, which include safety and weight inspections.
The Ramapo Police Department handled 162 calls Thursday, including 18 alarm activations, 11 medical emergencies, three fires and three arrests on charges including larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Officers also responded to 10 motor vehicle accidents, two of which involved injury.
