Ramapo Police Investigating Domestic Dispute Arrest Man On Warrant

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police investigating a report of a domestic dispute Monday wound up arresting a man wanted in Orangetown.

Ramapo police arrested a 29-year-old resident and he was turned over to Orangetown police on an active warrant.

Officers responding to a home in Chestnut Ridge said they spotted its 29-year-old resident walking along the road and stopped him.

After determining that no crime had been committed during the dispute, and that the man had an active warrant on him, they turned him over to Orangetown authorities. They did not say what he was wanted for on the warrant.

Police also investigated seven motor vehicle accidents.

The crashes occurred at the following locations: Route 202 in Pomona, Viola Road and Route 306 in Viola, Route 202 in Montebello, College Road in Airmont, and Pomona Road in Pomona.

In total, police responded Monday to 147 calls, including nine medical emergencies, one fire, nine alarm activations and three other arrests, including one for unlawful possession of marijuana.
