A Ramapo officer on patrol at 5 a.m. in the Hillcrest area observed several people who appeared to be intoxicated just outside a local bar. When one of the men began urinating on the sidewalk at that location, the officer approached and identified the 39-year-old male and, after arrest, issued an appearance ticket for a future court date.
On Monday, Ramapo police handled 106 calls, including 13 alarm activations, seven medical emergencies, five fires and two arrests on charges including exposure of a person and driving with a suspended registration.
Police handled nine motor vehicle accidents in the following locales: Monsey (five), Airmont (three) and Viola (one). No injuries were reported in these accidents.
