Ramapo Police Charge Bronx Woman With DWI, Drug Possession

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Bronx woman is facing charges of driving while intoxicated after Ramapo police pulled her over on South Airmont Road on Sunday.

The unidentified 29-year-old driver also was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and refusal to submit to a chemical test, police said.

She was held for arraignment in Airmont Village Court, police said.

Police answered a total of 128 calls for service on Sunday, including 18 alarm activations; two fires; nine medical emergencies; and two other arrests -- one for unlawful possession of marijuana and the other on a bench warrant.
