The arrest came about after police responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on Route 59 near Brookside Avenue, officials report.
Officers located the vehicle, and found and arrested the operator, who was impaired by drugs, according to police.
Ramapo police officers investigated four motor vehicle accidents on Saturday.
The sites of the accidents included Main Street in Hillcrest, West Eckerson Road in Hillcrest, Route 202 in Ramapo and Route 59 in Montebello.
The accidents involved property damage only; no injuries were reported.
Police responded to 111 calls for service on Saturday, rendering assistance in 14 medical emergencies, 16 alarm activations, and three fire calls.
A total of seven arrests were made, according to officials.
Charges included: DWI; driving while ability impaired by drugs; unauthorized use of a vehicle; two cases of aggravated unlicensed operation; a warrant of arrest; and unlawful possession of marijuana.
