The driver of the van was turning into a driveway when she failed to negotiate the turn properly and struck the fire hydrant, police said.

Police said the vehicle became hung-up on the hydrant and had to be towed off. The water company responded to the scene, inspected the hydrant, and reported that it was undamaged and fully operational.
