Ramapo Kids Caught Stealing Cold Treats From Ice Cream Truck

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Two Ramapo brothers were caught cold-handed on Thursday taking ice cream and other treats from an ice cream truck near Hillcrest by the truck driver, Ramapo police said.

Ramapo Police received 127 calls for service on Thursday including a call in which two boys had taken treats from an ice cream truck.

According to Ramapo police, the two kids unlawfully entered the truck and began taking treats when the owner caught one of the boys. The other brother ran from the scene but returned when he realized his brother had been caught. All of the stolen goods were returned.

The driver did not to pursue the matter, so officers returned the boys to their guardian.

Also on Thursday, June 29, Ramapo police officers responded to 127 calls for service including:

  • 14 alarm activations,
  • Two medical emergencies
  • Three arrests including charges for marijuana possession and traffic offenses. 
  • 11 car accidents in the following areas: Monsey (3), Airmont (3), Hillcrest (2), New Hempstead (2), and Montebello. Three accidents involved injuries; one accident was a hit & run.
