Officers on patrol from the Ramapo Police Department conducted a traffic stop in Hillcrest after spotting a vehicle making multiple vehicle and traffic violations in the area.

Police said that during the subsequent investigation, it was determined that the driver - an 18-year-old whose name has not been disclosed as he is still being processed - was in possession of an illegal gravity knife and marijuana.

The stop came shortly after a 31-year-old Airmont man was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated with a child in the car.

The driver was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana. He is currently being processed at the Ramapo Police Department and is due in court to answer the charges.
