The life-saving event took place after the department received a call of an overdose victim. When the officer arrived she found a man in 20s unconscious and not breathing, Ramapo Police said.
The officer quickly administered the drug, successfully reviving the man who was able to walk himself to the ambulance, police said.
The department is reminding residents that although the drug can save lives, it can't reverse the effects of opioid addiction and the negative effects it has on the user and the people around them.
