Police Charge Suffern Man With DWI In Ramapo Crash

RAMAPO, N.Y. – Jonathan Elwell, 33, of Suffern, was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident on Thursday, on Route 202 near Viola Road, lohud.com reports.

Route 202 was closed for six hours following a drunk driving crash that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.

The head-on crash at 12:48 a.m. closed Route 202 for nearly six hours and sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries, lohud.com says.

Elwell also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury and a felony count of vehicular assault, lohud.com reports.
