SUFFERN, N.Y. -- An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by a car late Wednesday night on Route 202 in Suffern, according to authorities.
The incident occurred just before midnight near the intersection of Wilder Road.
Another person was injured in the incident.
Both victims were students from a yeshiva on Route 202, according to multiple reports.
The crash reportedly occurred when a car coming from the opposite direction hit a vehicle turning into the yeshiva. One of the cars reportedly hit the two students who were walking along the road, according to CBS 2.
The drivers were not injured, according to News 12 report.
Route 202 was reopened just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
The road had remained closed between County Route 81 (Wilder Road) and County Route 84 (Lime Kiln Road/Spook Rock Road) for several hours while the accident investigation was conducted.
