Monsey Teen Charged After Route 306 Accident

RAMAPO, N.Y. --  The Ramapo Police Department charged a 19-year-old Monsey man with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired on Monday, March 14, police said.

The driver was involved in an accident on Route 306 at approximately 11 p.m. He was processed and released pending a court appearance in April, police said. 

Ramapo authorities answered 121 calls for service on Monday, including: Nine medical emergencies, two fires, 14 alarm activations, and four arrests including charges for DWI, DWAI-Drugs, suspended operation and a bench warrant, police said. 

Police also investigated 11 accidents in the following locales: Viola, New Hempstead, Monsey, Hillcrest , Airmont, Tallman, Chestnut Ridge, and Wesley Hills. Two of the multi-vehicle accidents involved injuries, police said.
