The victim told police the incident involving the housemate, Uwaldo Trinidad Hernandez-Berios, occurred at Mi Cosina Bar on South Main Street at about 10:10 p.m.
Arriving Spring Valley officers found the victim with a deep stab wound to his left arm. A makeshift tourniquet was applied to the victim’s arm by a friend to slow the bleeding, Spring Valley Police said.
The victim was transported by Spring Hill EMS initially to Nyack Hospital, then diverted to Westchester Medical Center for surgery.
Detectives later responded to Uwaldo Tinidad Hernandez-Berios’ residence where he was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, as well as criminal possession of a weapon.
Uwaldo was sent over to Rockland County Jail and held on $20,000.00 bail.
