Officers from the Ramapo Police Department stopped a 45-year-old Spring Valley resident early on Monday morning after spotting the violation in Hillcrest.

During the traffic stop, officers found several open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle, leading to his arrest. It was subsequently determined that his blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit.

The man - whose name was not disclosed by police - has since been released and is due back in Ramapo Town Court next month.
