Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on North Airmont Road at the intersection of the New York State Thruway yesterday at approximately 10:15 p.m., officials report.

Responding officers found a two-car accident; while investigating, they observed the driver of one of the vehicles to be impaired, according to officials.

The driver, a 25-year-old male, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, police report.

He is ordered to appear in Montebello Justice Court later this month, according to officials.

Ramapo police report that officers investigated a total of eight motor vehicle accidents yesterday.

The locations of the accidents included North Airmont Road and Indian Rock Plaza in Montebello; Route 59 and Route 306 in Monsey; and Route 59 in Airmont.

Along with these incidents, An accident resulting in injuries occurred on Main Street in the Village of Kaser, according to police.

In addition, Ramapo police responded to 159 calls for service on Tuesday.

The incidents included seven medical emergencies, 17 alarm activations and seven fires.

Police made two arrests, one for driving while ability impaired by drugs and the other for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to officials.
