Man Charged In Theft Of $30,000 From Airmont Woman, Family

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Greenwood Lake man is facing charges of grand larceny in connection with the theft of $30,000 from his girlfriend and her family, Ramapo police said Wednesday.

The unidentified 42-year-old man stole jewelry and cash from the Airmont woman, police said.

Police said they have been working on the case for two years.

He was arrested Tuesday and is to appear in Airmont Justice Court to answer the charges.

Police also responded Tuesday to 17 motor vehicle accidents at the following locations: Airmont (7), Viola (2), Sloatsburg (2), Park Crest, Wesley Hills, Hillcrest, New Hempstead, Montebello, and Monsey.

Two of the accidents involved injuries and three were hit and runs.
