The driver, who was allegedly distracted by a passenger seated in the rear, struck a tree, crossed over the oncoming traffic lane and came to rest upon a rock wall, authorities said.

One passenger sustained minor injuries, according to officials.

All passengers were wearing their seat belts, police report.
