RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Dorothea M. Sepulveda died on Sunday, April 10. She was 82.
She was born on March 7, 1934, the only child of Joseph T. and Mary, (Travers) Mulligan, in New York City.
She attended St. Simon Stock Elementary and High School in the Bronx and the Bellevue School of Nursing where she graduated in 1954.
She married Ralph Sepulveda on June 22, 1957 at St. Simon Stock Church in the Bronx.
She was employed by Bellevue Hospital before she was married and was most recently the Director of Nursing at Ramapo Manor Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Suffern where she worked for thirty-five years before retiring in 2012.
She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern for forty-eight years and was a member of the Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity.
Her husband died in 2013.
She is survived by eight children and their spouses, Richard (Kathy), David (Anna Marie), Deidre (Sal), Andrew (Lisa), Denis (Daniela), Dorothea (Steven), Douglas (Jennifer) and Donna (Brendan);twenty-one grandchildren Kristine, Tristen, Alexandra, Mary, James, Sara, Clare, Megan, Julia, Emily, Ryan, John, Michael, Erin, Charles, Natalie, Kelly, Audrey, Gabriella, Eleanor and Sean and her great-grandchild, Audrey.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scarr Funeral Home on Route 202 in Suffern.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne,
